Arbitration 

​Arbitration is a process under which a neutral third party, other than a judge, makes a decision to resolve a conflict.  The arbitration may be required by a contract or may be voluntarily agreed upon by the parties to the conflict. Arbitration often is less formal than a court proceeding and less expensive.  Arbitration is not conducted in a public forum and, unless a court action is taken to enforce the arbitration decision, the decision rendered by the arbitrator is not a matter of public record.
